Why We Created the Crooked Christi Chamber of Commerce

The Crooked Christi Chamber of Commerce came from a simple observation:
a lot of local businesses are doing things the right way and still getting overlooked.

We’ve seen it up close. People putting in long hours, taking real risks, and building something from scratch—only to be boxed out of systems that are supposed to support them. Traditional chambers of commerce often make sense on paper, but in reality they tend to favor the same names, the same budgets, and the same voices. If you’re small, independent, or just starting out, it’s easy to feel invisible.

Crooked Christi knows that feeling because that’s exactly where we started.

This brand was never about fitting into what already existed. It was about creating something that belonged to us and to the city we’re from. Over time, it became clear that the same mindset could be applied beyond clothing.

All around the city are barbers, artists, vendors, food spots, creatives, and small business owners doing solid work with little recognition. The Crooked Christi Chamber of Commerce was created to put a spotlight on those people and give them a platform that actually feels accessible.

This isn’t a traditional chamber. There are no dues, no boardrooms, and no hoops to jump through. It’s not about titles or being “official.” It’s about visibility, support, and community. We want to highlight businesses that are rooted here, doing things their own way, and contributing to the culture of the city.

The goal is simple: help local businesses get seen, tell their stories honestly, and create opportunities for connection and collaboration. When people support local, it keeps the city moving forward in a way that benefits everyone—not just the biggest players.

The Crooked Christi Chamber of Commerce is a collective. It’s a space to recognize the effort that often goes unnoticed and to bring people together who are building something real.

If you’re local, independent, and putting in the work, this was created with you in mind.
